Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Answered

FAQ: FAQ

How should I prepare for my first visit?

Prior to your first visit you will receive a health history questionnaire. It is important that you complete this as thoroughly as you can so that your clinician has a good idea about your history prior to meeting with you.

What should I expect from my first session?

During your first visit we will go over your health history in depth, your goals, and present concerns. We will also talk about your current nutrition, exercise habits, etc and work to develop a comprehensive holistic treatment plan to address those issues. Herbal supplements may also be discussed. After your visit, you will receive a copy of your plan so that you have easy reference to what was discussed in your consultation. A followup visit will be scheduled so that we can review the changes and see how well they are working for you.

Do you help treat pain or chronic illness?

Absolutely. Although we have a few specialties, we treat a wide range of things and work with you and your primary care.

Can you replace treatment from a MD/DO/NP, etc?

No. Part of a holistic approach is realizing that there is room for both. Herbal medicine can be very effective when used in conjunction with conventional medicine. And just like any other medicine, it is important that you let your doctor and herbalist know about any supplements (vitamins, herbs, etc.) that you are taking because there are some herbs that interact with medications. Do not stop taking any medications without talking with your physician first.
